The post Introducing the Eventbrite App Marketplace: Essential Apps for Event Creators appeared first on Eventbrite US Blog. from https://www.eventbrite.com/blog/eventbrite-app-marketplace-ds0d/ Interested in learning how to make awesome videos that promote, host, and recap events? Here are 5 real-world examples from industry leading brands. Video event marketing is (and will continue to become) an important tool for every step of the event promotion process. According to 2019 event marketing statistics, 73% of marketers have all increased their use of video. And after learning from these real-world case studies, you probably will too! But first, a quick overview of why video event marketing is so useful in the first place. Why is Video Event Marketing Important?Industry leaders have already predicted the following 2019 video event marketing trends:
In addition to providing benefits, the 5 examples below will help inspire your next creative event promotion strategy with new ways to digitally promote, host, and recap your work. How to Use Video to Promote Your EventShare TeasersJust like a great film trailer, this Tony Robbins Date with Destiny event promotion video created in the Wibbitz platform does an effective job of setting expectations, conveying value, and giving audiences that much needed sneak peek at the experience itself. In it we see the self help expert himself along with video of attendees emotionally affected during past events. Video is a unique way to share Tony’s work with audiences so they can really see him in action. He already has many ways for audiences to experience his wisdom (books, podcasts, etc.) but this teaser trailer makes attending one of his live events that much more appealing. Main Takeaway: In addition to sharing event details like location and dates, make sure your event promotion video includes a sample of what your audience can expect. While post event videos with audience testimonials are great, seeing participants experience the event live for themselves is so much more exciting. It also makes it easy for viewers to imagine themselves having the same experience. Inspire ActionThe AJC Global Forum created this exciting video with Wibbitz to promote their annual event. Viewers are inspired by both the video’s heroic music and the message AJC shares with prospects. The message itself is centered around the organization’s values. Clearly spelled out and paired with fantastic visuals, it’s hard not to get behind AJC’s mission statement. Main Takeaway: If what you are doing is truly extraordinary, communicating that through video will be more impactful than any paragraph of standalone text you could possibly write. Capture viewers’ hearts and minds with emotional music, visuals, and messaging. How to Use Video to Host Your EvenCreate FOMOiHeart Radio are pros at showcasing live event highlights and exciting you-had-to-be-there videos. In addition to this envy-inducing Baby Shark clip their team created with Wibbitz while hosting the iHeart Music & More Festival, their Instagram Stories highlights are chock full of awards show coverage, updated in real time. So if anyone watching their Instagram videos was on the fence about going this year, they’ll definitely make it a priority to attend the next chance they get! Main Takeaway: Featuring your event highlights through disappearing social media clips is a great way to give audiences a taste of the experience while also emphasizing the limited window of time they have to join in the fun. How to Use Video to Recap Your EventRepurpose ContentFootage from your event panels and guest lecturers can be extremely useful for recapping your event. In the recap video page for our last Wibbitz Storyteller Circle in Paris, the featured videos share some of our favorite and most insightful quotes from our panel of industry experts. Publishing these digestible takeaways on a landing page helps persuade those who didn’t attend to come to the next event, and serves as a great takeaway to send attendees as a follow-up refresher. Plus, having rich media available from your live events is a simple and practical way to ensure your future events have the supplementary materials you need to convince prospects to register. Main Takeaway: Always record your event activities. Whether it’s a series of guest lectures or a view of the crowd on opening day, having video content on hand for future promotional activities is always a good idea. Provide Value
Bizzabo proves that video recaps aren’t just for live events - they can be highly effective for digital ones too! Their 2019 Event Trends Webinar Recap is an excellent example of how effective it is to share a bite-size version of the event with your audience after it has already happened. By sharing this event highlight, Bizzabo provides helpful information for viewers interested in the topic. Viewers can gain actionable takeaways from this short video now that make them feel even more excited to check out the full version later. Main Takeaway: The experience of watching your event recap video should be enough to persuade audiences to invest in the full experience. Sharing information they can actually use is a great way of going about it but value can also come in the form of positive emotions, inspiring words, and pre-sale codes for future events. Key Ideas: Videos for EventsNo matter how you use video event marketing, be sure to keep these key ideas in mind when creating your next strategy:
No matter how you choose to use video, adding this useful tool to your event strategy for promotion, hosting, and/or recapping the action is a smart move. As long as you remember that video event marketing is all about helping viewers personally connect with your experience, you really can’t go wrong! Add these ideas to your event software to maximize insight and learn more about what works best for your audience. from https://blog.bizzabo.com/how-to-use-video-to-promote-host-and-recap-your-next-event

The post Utah’s Most Awesome Live Events Run on This Guy’s Passion appeared first on Eventbrite US Blog. from https://www.eventbrite.com/blog/action-sports-event-production-ds00/ There is still a large gap between the reality of events and how we envision they should be. That’s why we raised another $27M to make events more impactful and rewarding for everyone involved. This is how. It’s a privilege to work at Bizzabo. I’ll explain. We know that in today’s increasingly digital world, real-life human interactions have become more important than ever. Over the past seven years, we’ve been proud to help marketers use technology to bring people together. Traditionally, software and technology solutions in the $500 billion professional events space have been focused only on the operational and transactional elements of events. This is fundamentally changing. We feel proud and privileged to lead the way. As the only Event Success Platform, Bizzabo enables enterprise and mid-market organizations in technology, media, services, finance, and more, to unlock the full value of professional events. We make it easier to create, manage and most importantly - optimize and boost every aspect of the event lifecycle. In the last year, we more than doubled our revenue. With our recent investment of $27 million, we will continue to fuel our category innovation. Here’s what we’ll be doing: Improving the experience of our customersWe know that one reason why hundreds of brands trust us to play a strategic role in their business is our customer-centric approach. With this latest round of capital, we will continue to invest in your success by building the product that you need, providing more training resources, automation and more of those incredible professionals who’re there for you 24/7. Your success is our success. You’re the reason that we come into work every day. You are at the top of our minds, and we are privileged to work for you. Making ground-breaking investments in event personalizationWe live in the customer-first era. A study in Harvard Business Review reports that prospects who perceive content as being tailored to their specific needs are 40% more likely to purchase from that buyer than prospects who did not. For event marketers, this means understanding the needs of their attendees and delivering on these needs before they are even asked. And doing all that, automatically and at scale. For those reasons, we are committing to leading the way in event personalization through new and advanced data analysis and machine learning capabilities, combined with more third-party integrations. The simplest way for me to think about it, and explain what this means is this: By using our technology, an 800-person event will feel like 800 uniquely tailored experiences. We have already made leaping advancements in the field, and we are privileged to have the vision, direction, product, customer base, team and capital to define the next era of events. Growing our teamWe know that to continue building a great product we need to continue building a great team. That’s why we’ll continue to invest in growing our teams both in the US and Tel Aviv. We will keep investing in selecting only the best talent for the mission ahead of us and providing the Bizzaboers who we are already privileged to have in our ranks with the tools and resources they need to thrive. We’re also excited to add Viola Growth Partners’ Rafi Carmeli and Eran Westman, and Next47 Partner Matthew Cowan to our board of directors. We are in a unique position to take the events industry to new heights and we have everything we need to do so. A huge thanks go to our new investors: Viola Growth, the leaders of this round, and Next47. I’d also want to reiterate my gratitude to Pilot Growth and Maor Investments, who led our previous round, and to all of our other incredible investors who have made this moment possible. To our partners, thank you for trusting us to take your business to the next level. To our growing family of Bizzaboers, thank you for tireless days and nights of hard work. To the families of our growing family of Bizzaboers, thank you for your continued support. It’s a privilege to be in a position to redefine the future of events, and we are committed to making the most of it. -Eran You can read more about this announcement in TechCrunch. Keep reading to learn how and when to use them to drive your promotional strategy. When it comes to event marketing, few techniques will help you boost event registrations more than event promo codes. After all, who doesn't love a good deal? In this article, we'll look at what event promo codes are and how to use them. Then we'll explore the different kinds of event promo codes out there. Let's dive in! What Are Event Promo Codes?Event promo codes are discount codes that event planners can offer their audience in an attempt to learn more about them and boost registration numbers. For example, some events offer attendees discounted rates if they purchase their tickets many months in advance. This is known as an "early bird special" and massive get-togethers like Adobe Max and HubSpot's INBOUND use the tactic. Not only does the "early bird" incentivize people to buy now rather than later, it also gives event teams insight into their target audience and what makes them tick. There are many other kinds of promo codes your events can use as well. We'll dive into what they are later in this article. But first, we need to talk about how these event promo codes can be used. How to Use Event Promo CodesNow that we understand what event promo codes are, how should we use them? There are four main ways we want to discuss. Track Your TribePromo codes allow event planners to accurately track registrations and understand which promotional channels are actually working. Armed with this information, they can then invest heavily in effective tactics while pulling back on those that don't produce as well. The key to accurate tracking is assigning different codes to different marketing initiatives. For instance, an events team may create specific promo codes for each of their company's socials, its blog, and its email list. Then it will be able to see which channel produces the most registrations. Boost PromotionThe most obvious way to use event promo codes is as a promotional tactic. You'll increase signups by offering your audience a discounted rate for a limited time. But why stop there? Event promo codes can also be shared with bloggers and other influencers. These folks can then share your codes with their audiences as well, exploding your reach. One of the biggest challenges when promoting any kind of event is overcoming customer procrastination. An expiring promo code is a great way to nip this problem in the bud. Potential attendees will be much more inclined to buy now if it will save them cold, hard cash. Use Invisible TicketsDon't worry, you don't need to be a magician to use this strategy. Invisible tickets are simply private tickets offered to partners and VIP guests only. Other folks won't even be able to see them when they register for your event. How can your company use this strategy? Include an invisible event promo code in your email communication with your special guests. Then they can easily register at their discounted rate and you won't have to worry about the private tickets being exposed to the general public. Win! Group Promo CodesLastly, we have group promo codes. These are exactly what they sound like: event promo codes offered to groups instead of individuals. This use case can be combined with any of the above three. For example, you could offer invisible group promo codes to a team of VIPs. Or you could promote a special group rate and track how well it performs. It's completely up to you. Different Types of Event Promo CodesLet's talk about the different types of promo codes your event can use. There are eight of them and each has its place in a proper event promotion strategy. Early Bird SpecialsWe briefly mentioned the early bird special in a previous section. To recap, this event promo code allows potential attendees to register for your event at a discounted rate, provided they do so before a specific date. The purpose is to entice signups and build momentum for your event by securing as many registrations as possible, as quickly as possible. And it really works! According to the Event Manager Blog, 51.3% of event planners consider early bird specials to be the best ticket sales strategy. Some events, Consensus by CoinDesk, for example, take this idea a step further and offer "ultra early bird" discounts. These coupon codes are offered to current event attendees and allow them to register for the next year's gathering at the lowest price possible. These special deals usually expire once the conference is over. Take a look at how CoinDesk pulled this off: Note: Early bird prices could also be issued with a unique ticket type. Partner PromotionsA partner promotion is a joint venture of sorts. Basically, your company joins forces with a separate business, they help market your event to their following, and you reward them for their service in some way — usually with free tickets to your gatherings or a discounted sponsorship package. These can be very successful! Why? Because it allows your event to piggyback off of the trust your partner has already built with their audience. Instead of you approaching cold leads and asking them to spend their hard-earned money on an event they may have never heard of, your partner can contact their tribe of red-hot leads and endorse you. The only way to effectively use this tactic is by using event promotion codes. How else will you be able to easily track registrations produced by your partners? Simply give them a unique coupon code to use in their marketing. Then analyze the results. The following event email marketing content from CloserIQ’s Women in Sales Series is a good example of how to approach potential partners and what to provide them with. Another great opportunity for leveraging promo codes is in your ABM strategy. Learn how: Free VIP CodesFree VIP codes are event promo codes given to VIPs that allow them to register for your gathering free of charge. Why would you ever want to give away free tickets? Events cost money to put on. Ticket sales help to cover these costs. Free tickets reduce event ROI, right? There are a few different situations where you'll want to use free VIP codes. Distribute them to:
Lastly, your event is sure to have a few very important people. Guests of honor that, though they might not be speaking, their presence alone boosts the prestige of your gathering. These folks also deserve a free VIP code. The following promotion from Heinz Marketing illustrates the idea perfectly: Discounted VIP CodesThese are exactly the same as free VIP codes. Well, almost exactly. Instead of offering them to VIPs for free, you give them a discounted rate. When should discounted VIP codes be used? How about for:
Seasonal PromotionsSeasonal promotions are a great tactic for increasing ticket sales. They're very easy to run too. Just offer special event discount codes centered around a specific holiday. For example, you could run a "Christmas Special" and offer tickets to your event for a discounted rate when purchased in December. Many well-known events, like Totango (pictured below), have taken advantage of this strategy. Their Valentine's Day promotion encouraged potential attendees to register for the event before the day ended in return for a whopping 50% discount on tickets! While holiday-centric event promo codes are the most popular, the same idea can be applied to other happenings. For example, you could also offer discounted ticket rates during March Madness (the popular college basketball tournament), the World Cup, or the Super Bowl. Surprise SalesKeep your fans on their toes and offer surprise event promo codes. These are just ticket deals that your audience isn't expecting. They can boost registrations for two reasons:
This email from Optimizely is a perfect example of a surprise sale: Surprise sales work anytime your event needs a quick boost in registrations. We've seen this tactic used quite a bit, for instance, towards the end of the month when event sales teams need to reach their month's sales goals. Bundled Promo CodesBundled promo codes are a great way to increase the average spend of your attendees. Here's how it works:
Bundled promo codes are a win/win for both your event and it's attendees. You generate more revenue and they save money. Viral CodesViral codes tap into the immense power of social media. What are they? They're event codes that registered event attendees are encouraged to share with their personal followings on sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. When their friends, family, and acquaintances use their unique code to purchase their own tickets at a discounted rate, the original sharer is rewarded by earning money back on their already purchased ticket. These kinds of codes are VERY difficult to use without some kind of event software. Inside Bizzabo, the process is a piece of cake, though. We call this feature "Ticket Boost" and it's already seamlessly integrated into our platform. Our users just have activate it, set the discount amount, encourage attendees to share their codes, and sit back and watch the extra signups roll in. Bulk Promo CodesDo you know where else event software really comes in handy? Creating bulk promo codes. Bulk promo codes are just discount codes that are generated in bulk. You could do this manually. But it would be incredibly tedious. Or you could use software like Bizzabo and generate a huge number of unique discount codes at the click of a button. Once you've created your bulk of codes, you can then group them together to better segment your marketing efforts and gain crystal clear clarity into which creative event promotion ideas are working and which aren't. Simply:
Pretty simple, right? Key Takeaways: Boost Your Event With Promo CodesEvent promo codes are a wonderful corporate event management tactic. They'll allow you to boost registrations and goodwill with your attendees. They have to be used correctly, though. Here are a few keys to keep in mind before using any kind of discount code.
